A.J. Green Named To All-Rookie Team

Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver A.J. Green was voted into the Pro Football Weekly/Professional Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy. Green was the only Bengals rookie to make it on the list as quarterback Andy Dalton was beat out for a spot by Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

Green is the first rookie wide receiver to have a 1,000-yard season since Marques Colston racked up 1,038 yards in the 2006 season. Green also broke the Bengals' franchise record for most receiving yards in a rookie season, a record which was previously held by Cris Collinsworth and had not been broken since 1981.

Well deserved.

So glad we got this guy along with Dalton. Cam had a fabulous season, and he is well deserving too, but I will take what we got.

+1

I honestly think teams will figure out Cam…just like Vince Young…just like the wildcat….teams will scheme around him and force him to throw….I still think he will be a pretty good QB for years

IDK

whats scary about Cam is he can throw as good as he can run… I think to slow him down you would really need a very athletic D.

To be honest I think Dalton will be easier to figure out than Cam

I have seen nothing to indicate to me that he isn’t everything he is being touted as. I am happy with Dalton but at this point I am forced, thru logic, to admit he is the better QB between him and Dalton. Dalton was kinda the Topper Harley of QBs – the best of whats left. Don’t get me wrong, I am very happy we got Dalton and am expecting him to be a great one. We are lucky he fell to us.

So looking at this....

What do people think about the Julio Jones trade? Do you think it was worth it? If the Falcons offered you the package they offered the Browns and you were Bengals “GM”, would anyone have taken it?

If you could go back, is there anyone that would actually draft Jones over Green?

No.

I feel we got one of those players that only come around every so often. We are lucky to have him, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world, but that is me.

Is that a joke Jones just started producing I know. I had him on my fantasy team
It's a long offseason.

I’ve got to keep some debate going :-)

Yea I hear ya. Hopefully it won't feel like a long offseason
This trade was terribld

Jones is good……but not that good…I WOULD do it for Green….Guys like this come along once every ten years….Jones will be a good receiver for years to come…but he is not a game changer….period

browns got the better end of the deal

but they still dont have a WR

Yeah, the Browns FO has done them wonders.....

Seriously, I hope they can become more competitive. I used to enjoy the Battle of Ohio since I live where there is about equal Browns and Bengal fans.

Nope!

I think without Green we would not have seen what Andy Dalton was. So, we would have never let Palmer go, which gave us a 1st this year and a possible 1st next year. We got more by sticking our foot in the ground and saying No than jumping at the bait.

It was interesting to note that the Ravens and Steelers didn't have anyone on the list

There may be two reasons for this. The Ravens or Steelers didn’t have any stellar rookies – or – they have not put them into a starting role as they are still in development because they already have good starting material in the positions in which they drafted.

How did Richard Sherman make all rookie over Brandon Browner?

Browner was the other Seahawks rookie CB. He led the league in passes defended and had 6 INTs with over 200 return yards and 2 TDs.

I realize he played 3 or 4 years in the CFL, but he’s still a rookie.

Maybe Browner’s gonna be the Ken Riley to Sherman’s Lemar Parrish?
