Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones pleaded guilty on Wednesday for an incident he was arrested for at a Cincinnati bar in July. When an argument between Jones and his wife broke out in the bar, police were called. After "aggressively cursing the police" they tried to arrest him but when they tried to put him in handcuffs, he "waived his arms and tensed his muscles" so they wouldn't be able to. He was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The resisting arrest charge was dropped in exchange for the guilty plee to disorderly conduct.
Jones was ordered to pay a $250 fine (plus court costs), do 50 hours of community service, stay out of Scene Ultra bar and is on one-year probation. It is currently unclear as to whether or not Jones' guilty plea will affect his probation in Nevada from a previous arrest.
The judge told Jones that he acted unprofessionally when he was arrested.
From The Cincinnati Enquirer:
"This is unprofessional behavior," Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Brad Greenberg told Jones today. "If you want to be regarded as a professional, you need to act like one at all times."
Jones is now a free agent and it's unclear as to whether or not the Bengals will re-sign him before the 2012 season. In his two seasons with the Bengals, he has only played in 13 games and the cornerback position is considered to be one of the most urgent positions to upgrade.

Meh
He’s a lot of trouble

At this point........
risk > reward. Let’s draft a few young guys, maybe bring in another vet and move on. Not worth all his problems for a #3-4 CB who is consistently hurt.

+1. Thank you. Just clean house like we started last year
I still have a bad taste in my mouth from Andre burned his ass last game

Wow, his price just went down considering he won't even be available the entire season.
Almost similar to last year because of his injury, then he came back mid-season. I’ll be willing to bet we re-sign him now.
The Van Buren Boys - January 18, 2012
dunno
he might be suspended for all of 2012
palewook - January 18, 2012
Would be surprised to see that, but is possible.
Is a shame, the guy has all the talent in the world and has never or will most likely never realize it in the NFL. This type of stuff isn’t helping our CB issues, wouldn’t mind if we just let him walk and rid ourselves of his issues altogether.
The Van Buren Boys - January 18, 2012
Can't rely on this guy
Never could. If they re-sign him it must only be under the assumption that he won’t be higher than the No.3 or No.4 cornerback on the roster.

I can see him as a nickel only if
the Bengals are assured he won’t be suspended for more than 1 game. With Hall probably heading for the PUP we can’t afford roster spots for no-shows. If he has violated his parole then who knows if he’s even available this summer?
Just made the secondary problem that much more critical. As much as I’d like to see the Bengals use their #17 and #21 on the front 7, it’s looking less likely they can justify that.
BENGALS69 - January 18, 2012
he also pleads guilty
to horrible technique against Andre Johnson
ticalcaldwell - January 18, 2012
very funny
BENGALS69 - January 18, 2012
Yep
Gotta keep that head on a swivel …. And make sure Chris Crocker is not backing you up on ANY given play.
77CincyRage - January 18, 2012
It would be easier to make sure
Chris Crocker is no where near the stadium. ;)

Did his wife beat him like Andre j did?
njbengalstat - January 18, 2012
Pending a suspension...
I think Jones still has something to offer. He likely has a bit of rust still yet to shake off as he was on the PUP list for a while then injured his hamstring, so I’m not ready to judge his ability just yet (even though getting beat by AJ the way he did was painful to watch). But if he ends up with a suspension of multiple games (or the whole year), then he’s obviously not worth the investment.
