The Cincinnati Bengals won't learn whether their defensive coordinator will remain with the team until next week. Though he was eliminated as a candidate for Miami's head coaching vacancy, Mike Zimmer remains very much in the mix for the head coaching job in Tampa Bay.
The Buccaneers have completed interviews with Zimmer and Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski this week.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers are expected to speak with Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin and Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements by the weekend. It's not unexpected that the Buccaneers could interview a new candidate at some point new week, "such as (Giants defensive coordinator Jerry) Fewell, after the conference title games."

If Cincinnati is forced to replace Zimmer, the leading candidates continue being Bengals defensive backs coach Kevin Coyle and former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio.
With the recent firing of head coach Jim Caldwell, Zimmer could be a candidate for the vacant head coaching position in Indianapolis. However the known early candidates are New Orleans offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael and Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray.

I am confident that Zimmerman ain't going anywhere.
Heck he may be the Bengals HC for the 2013 season.

I wouldn't mind that
Cause it’s obvious Marvin has reached his peak. Consistently losing to bad teams n all. The biggest game in his career, he lost. Absolutely sucked in the wild card game. Granted! As he always says. Players godda execute and play smart hard and keep chopping wood. But really feel he’s reached his peak here. I hope he excels in 2012.

Marvin
I think it speaks volumes that Mikey hasnt extended his contract…remember…Marvin was on a two year deal…I think Mikey is giving him one last year to get it done and if not……happy trails

I still have my dream scenario
Mike, realizing his days are numbered and running an NFL team takes away from his hobby of stealing candy from children and kicking homeless people, steps down from day to day and hands the reins to Katie. Marvin, coming off another wild card weekend loss, is looking tired and weary but still loves the game. New President of ops Katie makes Marvin GM and gives him a budget for a scouting department. Zimmer, now being an even hotter commodity with a top 3 defense, is promoted head coach. Jay Gruden has a good year with a top 15 offense and 2-3 pro bowlers on offense. Nonetheless he doesn’t land a head coaching gig. They also break ground on their own permanent indoor practice facility.

Could've been typing from his phone.
My auto-spell check types Zimmerman if I try to type Zimmer. It happens.

Obviously, the Bucs are waiting on the coaches from the remaining teams in the playoffs
I wonder which coordinator it is out of the for teams that remain?
I bet the OC for giants has to be on the top of the list.

I guess I'm selfish
I never want Zim to leave.
