According to reports from SB Nation's Indianapolis Colts site, Stampede Blue, and from SB Nation's Indiana regional site, the Colts are going to interview Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, per an interview with John Clayton on SportsCenter.
We received reports yesterday that the Colts will interview Titans assistant coach Jerry Gray and Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael for the head coaching job. Today, John Clayton of ESPN told SportsCenter that the Colts will also interview Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.
This is allegedly the third team that will interview Zimmer for a head coaching position. The other two were the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Zimmer has been the Bengals defensive coordinator since January of 2008 and has led the Bengals to defensive rankings of 12th, fourth, 15th and seventh in his four years with the team.
There has yet to be a confirmed report of the Colts asking permission to interview Zimmer but it wouldn't be surprising if those reports came out soon. We'll keep an eye out, so stay tuned.

From the beginning
Thhy have been my sleeper to hire Zimmer. What ever they decide to at QB they will more than likely have an elite level QB no matter who the coach is but there Defense has been bad for a while and needs to fixed

Won't happen...

Im saying Brian Billick would be a good fit for the colts
AMAS85 - January 19, 2012
I'd like to have Billick

At this pace we are bound to loose him.
Damn is their a team that isn’t interested in Zimm? I hope the Bengals start to keep their eyes on a replacement because at this pace it’s just a matter of time.

I disagree
The only team I’m worried about it Tampa. They seem to really like Zim and I think he would be a good fit. Young team with nothing but upside.

njbengalstat - January 19, 2012
No problem
Helmsy - January 19, 2012
Zimmer would be a back-up if the Colts cant get a Offensive Minded HC
Touhue Cha - January 19, 2012
I kind of agree.
Andrew Luck is coming to town and he’ll need a new Oline, some wideouts, a running game.
Zimmer would have to work with similar draft day talent as he’s had in Cincy for the most part. He is a wonder worker for sure, if anyone can make something out of 3rd and 4th round picks, its Zimmer.
Of all the rumors, this one wouldn’t surprise me at all. The owner has a town devoted to the team. Irsay has the respect of the fans. The fans would accept Zim, no problem.

I'm 50/50
A part of me is happy That good ol’ Mike Zimmer is getting these chances. But a part of me really wants him to stay. Our defense has been great in his tenure here with the Bengals. The guys, no matter who it is, seem to rally behind Zimmer. He just brings that spark to the defense. I really hope he stays.
Bengal050 - January 19, 2012
this is the one I would say go for it
Don’t want him to leave, but I like the matchup. Solid O already, so he doesn’t have to overcompensate like so many former coordinators are wont to do.
supergrover - January 19, 2012
Just doesn't seem like Zim will get a HC job
Excellent DC
Can’t play the politics with the owners, and their probably not convinced he is smooth enough to to be a HC.
Don’t want to see him go – but hopes he gets a shot – gotta be better than Hue Jackson, Morniengwheng and a bunch of others who sucked up to the owners to get theirs
TX Bengal - January 19, 2012
who's to say he hasn't turned down an offer?
