Bengals Fans Can Take Advantage Of Super Bowl's Location

I know there are many of you who live out of town and nowhere near Cincinnati, but for those of you who live in the Cincinnati area, there are some advantages of living in the Queen City right now. Of course the Bengals aren't in the Super Bowl, but we can take advantage of the fact that the Super Bowl is being played in Indianapolis, which is just a little over an hour and a half away.

According to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Joe Reedy, the Super Bowl festivities kick off today, a week before the game, and there are some things that would be worth seeing, especially since the Super Bowl isn't this close to Cincinnati very often at all.

Star-divide

This Super Bowl also will be unique in one important area – basically all of the key events will be within an eight-block radius. Besides Lucas Oil Stadium, where the game will be played, the key areas will be the Indiana Convention Center and a three-block stretch of Georgia Street, which will comprise the Super Bowl Village.

Here's a list of some of the festivities in Indianapolis in the coming week in preparation for the Super Bowl:

  • In the Indiana Convention Center, NFL Experience Presented by GMC will be hosting NFL Play 60 and there will be current and former players available for autographs.
  • Longest temporary zipline for $10 a ride.
  • Free concerts including bands such as LMFAO, O.A.R., Fuel, Darius Rucker
  • The three-block stretch of Georgia Street that makes up Super Bowl Village will have food and beverages and is surrounded by restaurants and hotels.

Its funny

I really didnt think about the SB being so close to us…Mentally I just picture it far away…I actually might go check this out…Might be the only time until next year when the Bengals go to the SB…then I will surely go….WHODEY

at the same time

I know that its a new stadium but I think that this location is terrible…No one wants to go to this town…especially in Jan-Feb….I have been to Indy…I am sorry…its not that bad…but for people to come from around the world…I can assure you…the nightlife is just not there….New York will be risky as well but just for the weather…New York is insanely fun…

You should go

I went when to Dallas for 2 days last year and had a blast. I couldn’t afford tix by no means to the SB but everywhere I went there was something. ESPN was broadcasting outside and the DP Show was setup out side a hotel. I got to meet alot of pro athletes and recommend it to anyone in Cincy to make the trip if you can.
