Newly-Hired Raiders Head Coach Dennis Allen: Carson Palmer "Absolutely" Week One Starter

Remember in the months between January and October here at Cincy Jungle, when you couldn't visit our site without getting some sort of Carson Palmer update? It has now been a full year since Palmer's trade demands and retirement threats became public (can you believe how time flies?), and he is now going into his second season with the Oakland Raiders.

It appears that Carson fled one perceived dysfunctional organization for another that has been in "rebuild mode" for the past decade. Because of the Raiders' late-season collapse, a total house cleaning has taken place in Oakland, including the firing of last year's head coach, and biggest advocate for Palmer, Hue Jackson.

With a new General Manager and new coaching staff, many close to the team have begun to wonder if Palmer's days in Oakland are numbered. New Raiders head coach, Dennis Allen weighed in on the situation.

Star-divide

According to www.profootballtalk.com, Allen proclaimed that Palmer will "absolutely be the Week One starter at quarterback for the Raiders". It's a wise decision for the time-being, seeing as how much they gave up for Palmer, as well as the fact that Jason Campbell will likely be leaving the squad and they have the unproven Terrelle Pryor on the roster.

When interviewed in Hawaii this week on NFL Network, Raiders Pro Bowl defensive tackle Richard Seymour said that he thought that Palmer and the Raiders will be much improved with the benefit of a full offseason together. We'll see if that's the case--it obviously couldn't hurt. However, despite all of the staff turnover in Oakland, it looks as if Bengals fans will still get to look forward to the 2012 game versus the Carson Palmer-led Raiders.

Well they cant really bench him

for all they gave up for him

I absolutely don't care...

Isn’t that great? I was really worried that somehow I’d miss Palmer if our new quarterback sucked……but now I can say with all honesty that I DON’T CARE ABOUT HIM ANYMORE…no hate, no love….just don’t care anymore!

Huzzah

As someone who hates the Raiders almost as much as I love the Bengals, this is fantastic news.

Once a Quiter always a Quiter

WHO CARES????

SCREW THAT SOFT AS TISSUE QUITTER!!!!!

Can't wait

For the day that spineless poor excuse for a man doesn’t make a headline on my favorite place to read and comment on the CINCINNATI BENGALS. Only good out of this article is hopefully he’s under center when the Raiders come to town that way Geno and Carlos can serve as a somewhat welcome back committee for his ass!!!!!!

I am sure he will be so pumped to play us. NOT

I hope to God he comes in scared of Geno, Los and the boys. Pick sixes here we come!!

Cant wait to play them!
From a realistic veiw

Palmer will have a career year this season, and there wasnt any way in hell that he wouldnt be the opening day starter.
The only way he becomes a top of the league QB again is to grow some nutz, and have a head coach that has his back,
there isnt a Qb in the NFL that can be successful trying to cater to WR’s,if there not running the right route’s or where there
supposed to be.Palmer has to be man enough to single them out,and the HC has to have his back, even if that means sitting a better player. This isnt a concern here in Cincy anymore, but Marvin isnt that guy, neither was Carson.

Palmer will have a career year this season

How?
His performance has deteriorated for 6 straight seasons.
He has no good WR’s to throw the ball to.
He has a new head coach who doesn’t love him like Hue Jackson did.

Just watch the games

The HC doesnt have to love him, just believe in him,and have his back
Just who was the good WR’s Carson had here?

Good WR's Carson had

TO – future HOF’er
Chad 85 – Yes he’s a diva. But he’s a near HOF candidate. Many 1,000 yard seasons.
TJ – great posession guy

All 3 of them are better than any WR’s presently on Oakland’s roster

look at Carson's number's with Ocho and TJ

TJ was the obvious go to guy that never got replaced
you cant name any other legit number 2 target, running back, tight end after TJ
TO speaks for itself,a beast of a athlete, total cancer everywhere he has been, and thats just what he was when he was
here a HAS BEEN
There is a reason OCHO is a backup to a bunch of white guys in NE

7 years you mention 3 receiver’s,there hasnt been 3 legit targets on this team at one time in a very long time, there is now however

Also Carson threw for more yards per game than any other year of his career, with those no name Raider receiver’s

Watch and learn son!

I wasnt too worried when Carson demand a trade or retire becuase I had a feeling we were gonna get dalton on the 2nd. You probably think I’m full of it by Saying that. But now that Carson dosnt have two cry baby mememe WRs I have a feeling he will have his best year in the NFL. too bad though he will lose against dalton and green when it matters!!! and I am super glad to see a chocho stinko gone

When Chili takes over as GM of the Bengals this will all change

He’ll trade our 21st pick and Dalton to the Raiders to get Rocket Arm Palmer.

Can't wait for Palmer to come back to Cincy..

The boo’s will be glorious!

Will be fun

“CANT WAIT”

Watching Mike & Mike

At Indy this morning and theirs 2 kids in the background with Bengals #9 jerseys on passing a football. "come on dad spring for a new one".

They jumped on the bandwagon!!

And cheap dad went for the 75% off jerseys.
