I hold the unpopular opinion
That Jack Nicholson was a better Joker than Heath Ledger. Both did a phenomenal job, but I give the nod to Jack.
If you totally disagree, watch the original Batman movie again. Jack is funny, psychotic and just all-around amazing in that movie. “Never rub another man’s rhubarb!”. Classic.

See, I'm a huge Batman guy.
Ever since I was a kid. The Joker roll played by Jack revolutionized villains in super hero movies. Trust me, I like the new Batman movies more, but Jack was the man with the master plan in that first Batman film. Heath was phenomenal as well, but Jack paved the way for Heath. Heath, himself, acknowledged the same in many interviews. Still, both great rolls and great film work done by both. But yeah I agree with you. Jack was the man…. “This town needs an enema.”

guess it does come down to when you are introduced to your first joker
cesar romero is the joker to me. from mark hamill to jack nicholson to heath ledger, they’re all good and have their own take on the character which makes them fun to watch. i still compare them all to romero.

I watched that Batman series as well when I was young,
but I just don’t see Romero being as twisted as the others. You’re right though, he wa the first. There’s no doubt about that. Like you said, they each added their different spins to the roll.

I can't watch the Heath Ledger Joker
I’ve tried a couple times, and it’s so creepy and disturbing. In a way that I’ve never experienced with another movie, I find it unwatchable. I’ve skipped movies because they sucked, but that one has me disturbed to watch.
