While the Senior Bowl is a major scouting opportunity for NFL teams to get exposed to many incoming prospects, it's the annual Scouting Combine that is the preeminent scouting event for staffs. The 2012 Combine will be held in Indianapolis on February 22nd and unlike the Senior Bowl, teams will get exposure to a number of declared underclassmen.
Sometimes labeled the "underwear olympics", the Combine is a few days of teams gathering in the confines of Lucas Oil Stadium to watch many young men run, jump, pass, kick and catch their way into the NFL. Certain positions are grouped together on certain days and the teams also get access to interview several players they are interested in drafting. This week is very important to teams and prospects alike, as one bad workout or interview could change a team's perception of a player.
SB Nation released the complete list of invitees to the Combine and there are a number of players that the Bengals staff will have their eyes on.

With the team likely looking at wide receiver, cornerback, safety, defensive linemen and offensive linemen, they will have plenty of opportunities to see the top prospects at these positions in action. Most of the names that have been linked to the Bengals in mock drafts will be participating in Indianapolis.
The University of Alabama has the most invitees to the Combine with nine. The Bengals will be particularly interested on three of those attendees: safety Mark Barron, running back Trent Richardson, and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick. Some controversy has swirled around Barron and Kirkpatrick recently, however. Barron was just diagnosed with a sports hernia injury and Kirkpatrick just cleared his name of a marijuana charge hanging over his head.
Over the past few years, the vast majority of players drafted were attendees of the Scouting Combine. February 22nd will be a big step in a critical offseason for the direction of the Bengals.

I want to see
how fast Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps can run in the combine. I think they are going to come up with some of the fastest times ever.

demps has decided not to pursue football and focus on his pro-track career
so yeah, he is fast. but we wont see it at the combine

Lamar Miller is faster than Rainey & Demps.

Im going to be watching the corners, running backs and safeties
Im definitely will be watching Lamar Miller, Martin,Pead,Gilmore,Harrison Smith,Barron and others. I think Miller will finally be able to showcase the attributes that has me clamoring for him.

Miller
Man I just don’t see why everyone wants this guy. I’ve been watching a lot of his highlight videos but I just don’t see it. He must be good. I can’t wait to see him at the combine too. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

dude has elite top end speed, but I think he would fit in a more traditional running attack offense. I don’t like his shiftness or his hands compared to other backs available.
But he would still be an upgrade from Benson

I think thats what the Bengals are transitioning to
I agree, Miller may have to work on certain things in the passing game but his hands are more than adequate. With his size and speed, he is probably the best big play back in the draft, which the Bengals need and want more of.

Also
From going to 3 Miami games this year, you can see how Millers big play ability striked fear into opposing defense’s. You wont see it on film. His running ability opened things up for that offense.

like i said i wouldn't mind picking him up
but i still think richardson/pead/martin and even l. james are better choices for this offense.

and another thing, i think miller had some good blocking from his fb and oline
i mean they pretty much built the offense around him,

Washington was their best lineman and will be a top 80 pick
But other than that the rest of the line was mediocre at best. He had a lot of big runs from the line breaking down and him reversing the ball up the field. I been to over 40 college games the past 4 years and he is top 5 of who i have seen.

i just didn't see that from the film ive seem, but then again its only a sample size compared to what you have seen
I definatley like his speed, i just think there are better options than to get him in the first round. we are looking at getting a top 2 OG/OT vs a top 5 RB. I would rather get the better lineman in the first and wait for Martio or Pead to fall to us in the second.

martin
Now that is guy I would love to draft in round 2
